the celebrant guide

Here at The Celebrant Guide, we’re more than just an online education and support platform – we’re a movement. We’re youthful, fresh and we’re not afraid to challenge the status quo.

We are rebels with a cause, and our cause is to elevate the celebrant experience like never before.

The wedding world is constantly shifting and we are here to shift alongside it, staying relevant and fresh and creating a platform in which celebrants throughout Aotearoa can gain the confidence to offer the very best product to their couples.

We are passionate, we’re bold and most of all, we’re excited to have you on the journey with us!

Who are we?

We are Laura Giddey and Philippa Thomas, two experienced celebrants who have created successful independent businesses in the celebrant world and are excited to spread our experience and wisdom, giving a voice to and advocating for all celebrants throughout the Aotearoa.

Philippa (Te Ātiawa ki Taranaki) became a celebrant in 2013 and has since performed over 1000 weddings in Queenstown, Wellington and throughout the motu. She has two cats, one dog, three children, one husband and is obsessed with Formula One.

Laura Giddey has been a celebrant in Auckland and surrounding areas since 2012 and has been a constant source of information and support for celebrants throughout Aotearoa and abroad.

Laura is married and lives life in Mt Eden with her husband and her many, many books (she also works part time in a second-hand bookstore in Auckland City). She wishes she had the zoo that Philippa has, but without the children.

Together, we have dedicated our celebrant careers to representing all couples, with diversity and inclusion at the forefront of our mahi. We believe in kindness, community and support and, most of all, we love celebranting with a passion. We can’t wait to share that passion with our celebrant whānau.
